Natural support for your well-being during pregnancy
Pregnancy is a magical time – full of anticipation, but sometimes also marked by challenges, both big and small. Perhaps you feel more tired than usual, more sensitive, or are simply looking for moments to breathe. In precisely these moments, the power of plants can be a comforting companion. Used mindfully, essential oils offer you little islands of relaxation, help you reconnect with yourself – and remind you to take good care of yourself while you carry new life within you.
Is it safe to use essential oils during pregnancy?
Many pregnant women ask themselves this question: What is still allowed? What is safe? Especially during pregnancy, familiar habits are questioned – the search for natural, gentle solutions begins. But even with herbal remedies, less is more , because plants have effects and can also have side effects.
The good news: Many essential oils are safe during pregnancy when used correctly – diluted and used in small quantities, they offer reliable relief from typical discomforts.

Using essential oils effectively for pregnancy discomfort
Naturally relieve morning sickness
Lemon and peppermint have proven beneficial for morning sickness in studies and practical experience. Combined in the "Nausea Relief" aromatherapy blend , they unfold their effects particularly gently.
Tip: Peppermint in a smelling stick is safe during all stages of pregnancy. However, breastfeeding mothers should avoid it, as it inhibits milk flow and should not come into contact with the baby's nose.
Treat headaches during pregnancy naturally
The Stay Healthy Clear Head Roll-on contains peppermint in a gentle dilution and can be applied specifically to the neck and temples.
Relieve back tension naturally
For a soothing massage, use 10 ml of almond or St. John's wort oil with
- 2 drops of fine lavender
- 2 drops of cajeput
...add and massage into the back or legs (not the stomach).
Refreshment for heavy legs
Organic peppermint plant water from the refrigerator provides instant refreshment. From the 4th month onwards, the Light Legs Refreshing Gel is also a suitable choice.
Natural relief for respiratory problems
Mild oils such as:
- Lavender fine
- Cajeput
- Thyme linalool
- Hoholz
...may be used as a rub, inhalation or in a smelling stick according to the dosage table .
Anxiety, sleep problems & emotional support
Anxiety and sleep problems
Lavender oil helps reduce stress and anxiety and has relaxing and sleep-inducing properties. Bergamot, red mandarin, and neroli (orange blossom) are also comforting and calming.
Skin care and stretch marks
Now is the time to pamper your skin. Jojoba and almond oils support skin elasticity, help prevent stretch marks, and can be delicately scented with the aforementioned essential oils (e.g., lavender, bergamot, mandarin orange, or neroli). The Women's Life Stretch Mark Relief Oil is particularly convenient. Before applying the oil, moisten your skin with organic floral water to help the oil retain moisture. Soothing chamomile , stress-relieving orange blossom , or harmonizing rose water offer valuable active ingredients in addition to their fragrance.

Perineal massage for birth preparation
For birth preparation, perineal massage is an effective method to loosen the tissue in the perineal area and increase flexibility for childbirth.
For a helpful and pleasantly scented perineal massage oil, add 2 drops of fine lavender essential oil and 1 drop of Roman chamomile essential oil to 50ml of almond oil . Gently swirl the oil to mix. Wash your hands thoroughly before the massage. Place your thumb on the outer sides of the perineum (between the vulva and anus) and massage downwards and sideways with gentle pressure. Now insert your thumb a few centimeters into the vagina and stretch the perineum in a U-shape, pulling it outwards and continuing to massage the tissue. The massage and stretching should be tolerable.
From the 36th week of pregnancy, massage several times a week with increasing intensity for 5-10 minutes. As preparation, a hay flower steam sitz bath or a gentle yoni steaming with jasmine, lavender, neroli, or the mood-boosting aromatherapy blend is recommended from the 36th week of pregnancy.
Caution is advised with the following essential oils throughout pregnancy:
Angelica, anise, basil, Douglas fir, eucalyptus globulus, sweet fennel, blue chamomile, pine needle, coriander seed, lemongrass, bay leaf, lemon balm, clary sage, clove bud, niaouli, oregano, osmanthus, rosemary, sage, saro, yarrow, thyme thymol, violet leaves, verbena, vetiver, juniper berry, wintergreen, hyssop, cedarwood, cinnamon bark.
Some of these oils have hormonally active properties, others are uterotonic, some may well be used when applied correctly – but not within the scope of this general recommendation.
Most finished farfalla products, such as all cosmetics, AromaCare body oils, bubble baths, etc., can be used safely during pregnancy; exceptions are Frauenleben products Intimpflegeöl and Monatswohl-Massageöl and the Bauch Balance Bauchschmeichler massage oil, as abdominal massages are not recommended.
